Historical note

The Rhode Island School of Design, Museum of Art held the Art for Your Collection exhibition annually from 1962 to 1991 to raise funds for the Museum and to bring to the community works of art for the visiting public to enjoy and purchase. Held during the weeks before Christmas, the exhibitions featured works of art--paintings, sculpture, works on paper, textiles, and decorative art objects--selected by the RISD Curators from dealers and galleries located in the Northeast, primarily Boston and New York.

The exhibition was not held during 1974 and 1975 due to a building renovation project undertaken in the Museum of Art.
